Bison of Yellowstone
Only YOU Can Save Them!

PLEASE take a moment to contact these people listed below and tell them you want the wild bison (buffalo) to remain wild.. and ALIVE!

This is the very LAST of the wild bison. WHY ARE THEY KILLING THEM? Because of grass! Yes, GRASS! The cattlemen have (very cheaply) leased some Yellowstone land from the government. When the bison wander onto that leased land, they get killed by the DOL, as ordered by the State of Montana and the Deptartment of the Interior (DOI), who apparently represent the cattlemen. PLUS, as it was told to me, "the part that is lowest of all -- not only does Montana kill the buffalo that wander across the line, but they bait them to get them to cross the line".

Even though there is not a single record of any bison transferring this disease to cattle, it is being said that the bison killings are to keep the brucellosis disease from spreading to cattle; but if that were true, they would also be killing the elk, which do test positive for the disease.. (Then, of course, there is much $money$ made from elk hunting.) If this killing is allowed to continue, the wild bison will no longer exist.

I have nothing against cattle, or those who wish to raise cattle, but Yellowstone was set aside FOR the wildlife... not cattle. If the bison do not have enough to eat, then some of the land (which is the bison's natural migration area) that is leased out to the cattlemen should stop being leased. The bison need enough grassland to keep them in the area, or they leave to find food during winter. Bison shouldn't be killed for eating grass... They should be left alone with plenty of grasslands, even in their natural migration areas, to survive naturally.

They also want to kill the wolves. Wolves are an important part of nature keeping the bison and other wildlife controlled. The wildlife can't voice their opinions to save themselves. They need YOU! If you can't go to the "front lines" to help out, then please see the following links for more detailed information and then send your letters and/or e-mail messages to let the "officials" know you want the killings to stop... before it's too late. Killing is not the only option.
